Lake LaCygne and
Linn County Park
The heavily wooded lake and surrounding area is a haven for wildlife. You are likely to spot deer, squirrels, rabbits, wild turkey, ducks, geese, and even swans. For which the lake and LaCygne are named.
This warm weather discharge lake is well known for its abundance of fishing opportunities, especially in the winter months. The lake is highly ranked for its largemouth bass populations as well as those of blue and channel catfish. Its crappie and wiper populations are also highly sought after. Two boat ramps access the lake, though boating is limited to fishing only.
Fishing isn't the only activity you can enjoy. Linn County Park is home to over twenty miles of horse trails, a swimming pool, picnic shelters, and a basketball court.
The marina is complete with live bait, tackle, gas/oil, and a variety of food and beverages.
Several rustic cabins are available for rent, or you can set up a tent or RV in one of the many campsites. Electric, water, and sewer hookups are provided, as well as shower facilities.
The Linn County Lake is located in the northeastern corner of Linn County, just off Highway 69, 45 minutes south of Overland Park, KS.
