City Utilities

The City of La Cygne provides gas, water, sewer and trash services to city residents. To request these services at your residence or business please review the information below and then complete our online form.

 

Deposits

All applicants are required to make the following deposits that apply to the specific service(s) requested on the application. Cash, check and credit card payments can be made at City Hall (206 N Commercial St) or you can pay with a credit card over the phone (913-757-2144). Interest payments are made annually and deposits will be refunded in accordance with Sections 14-113 and 14-307 of the city code. 

Water - $200.00

Residential Gas - $200.00

Commercial Gas - $350.00

 

Note on Trash Services

The City of La Cygne works with Waste Management to provide curbside trash services to residents. Waste Management's billing policy requires a new household/business to pay a full month's charge no matter what day of the month services begin. For example, if you request weekly service with one cart on January 16, you will pay the monthly cost of $18.69 for only two weeks of service. No deposit is required for trash services.

I understand the statement of the account will be mailed to me the 1st day of each month. Payment of the account may be made at La Cygne City Hall, 206 N Commercial St (or P.O. Box 600), La Cygne, KS 66040 and is due by the 15th of each month. A 10% late charge will be added if not paid by the 15th of each month. Failure to pay this statement will result in termination of services. In order to re-establish service a reconnect fee plus the total outstanding account must be paid. Reconnects due to nonpayment of account may only be done from Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
