What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A Comprehensive Plan is a written document illustrating how our city wants to grow in the future. This plan includes many items such as maintaining the downtown district, housing for long and short-term residents, opportunities for businesses and other public amenities.
Why is the Planning and Zoning Commission changing the Plan?
La Cygne's Comprehensive Plan has not been updated since 2003. As you all know several things have changed in our nation and in our small piece of paradise since 2003, so updates are necessary to keep La Cygne moving forward and planning a successful future for generations to come.
How do I make sure my voice is heard about what should be updated?
Submit your responses to the Comprehensive Plan survey by Tuesday, March 15, 2022 so they are recorded and presented to the Commission, and then come to the La Cygne Visioning Workshop! This workshop will be held at the La Cygne Library (209 N Broadway Street) on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.. Dinner will be provided. This workshop is free and open to the public.
Who do I contact with questions about the Comprehensive Plan survey?
Call the La Cygne City Hall at 913-757-2144 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
