SWANFEST (Formerly known as the Fiesta)

8 am - Swan-a-thon 5K Run

9 am - Swanfest Pageant (Ages 0-18) in the Community Building

La Cygne 150 Queen & King Announced

10 am - Vendors Open (Downtown La Cygne)

10 am - 5 pm - Quilt Show at La Cygne Elementary School

10:45 am - Children's Parade (Downtown La Cynge)

11 am - Main Parade (Downtown La Cygne)

12 - 4 pm Family Friendly Games & Prizes (NO CHARGE)
(Separate game area for children 8 and under)
including crazy races, egg toss, water balloon games and much more

2 pm - Chicken Drop Fundraiser for the Prairie View Educational Foundation (Downtown La Cygne)

4- 5 pm - Children's Talent Show (Community Building)

5 -7 pm - Bingo & Swanfest Raffle (Community Building)

5 pm - La Cygne Rural High Alumni Reunion (Prairie View High School)

6 pm - Beard Contest (Community Building)

7 - 10 pm -  Music and Dancing (Either Broadway Street or Community Building - weather dependent)

Trolley Tours
($3) load at the museum and learn more about your town! Think we will run 4 or 5 tours so don't miss out starting at 10:30 AM with Johnnye Groothouse Lane.

From 11:30 to 1---Chris Joy Chris Epperson will be doing bbq dinners at the community building to benefit Grady's Kids. Pulled pork or Brisket dinners.

The museum is open so you can check out displays, buy souvenirs and visit with old friends and make new ones.

Band of Oz will perform from 3 to 4 in the community building with Dian Dotts and crew.

From 4 to 5, we have Julie Stevemer playing her cello, Young Historians doing the "naming of the River" and possibly Deanna Mitchell sharing about her book.

5 PM the Historical Society invites you to a community supper at the community building. Freewill donation benefits the museum

6 PM--6:45 PM Community Church Service at the Calvary Baptist Church

7 PM--KC Mystery Players will do "Last Stop La Cygne" at the Community Building $3 at the door sponsored by the Library.


Monday, May 27, 2019

10 am - Memorial Day Ceremony at Oak Lawn Cemetary

11 am - Unveiling of the Veterans Memorials on Broadway

12 pm Community Lunch at the Christian Church - Freewill donation to benefit the Good Samaritan Fund

Replay of "Films of Historical Plays"

Visit the Museum and Barn Quilt Display

2 pm - Passport Drawing at the Museum - $150 to the winner
